The questions for Quiz 3.
You have 30 minutes to complete this quiz. Once you’ve submitted all work to Gradescope, you’re free to go!
Our third quiz will focus on public-key cryptography, security protocols and network security.
This quiz will have two parts: a multiple-choice section and a long-answer section. It is open-book in a read-only sense, i.e., you can read from a book or the course notes, but you can’t communicate with each other or enter questions into online sources (including Google!). To make this crystal-clear, you can pre-open the course website, then use your mouse but not your keyboard in the invigilated quiz.
Please print a copy of this "bubble sheet" template before the quiz (or download it to a tablet). I will have you scan and upload your work (or just submit the PDF from your tablet).
This portion will be structured as a Gradescope fixed-length submission. For this quiz, write your answers on a blank sheet of paper and then scan and upload at the end.
We will incorporate Webex-based proctoring, so please ensure that your webcam is in working order. If you don’t have a camera, now would be a good time to get one. Whether or not we return to in-person instruction this Fall, the ability to fully engage in remote meetings will be important to many of your future employers. If you have a good reason why you can’t participate in the proctoring (e.g., the quiz will be held at 2am in your time zone), please let me know ASAP.
The Faculty is in the process of setting up an in-person invigilation plan for those who would like to opt into it. However, this plan won’t be ready for us to use tomorrow. I hope to offer an in-person option for the final exam. Some students have expressed an interest in writing quizzes and/or the final exam this way; I would like to provide this as an option. As with everything else this semester, however, in-person activities will be strictly optional and we will design things so that, as much as possible, neither the in-person nor the remote group is disadvantaged.
